Grant Writing and Reviews

Since 2022, I have run the Jackman Humanities Institute Summer SSHRC Grant Writing Bootcamp, a 7-week intensive course for faculty members in the humanities and qualitative social science eligible to hold Tri-Agency grants at the University of Toronto. This dedicated curriculum culminates in a curated peer-review session.

2023, Canadian Foundation for Innovation (CFI), John R. Evans Leadership Fund (JELF) Program, Ontario College of Art & Design University (OCADU).

2017-2020, Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC), Insight Grant Program, Toronto Metropolitan University, Office of the Vice-President, Research & Innovation.

In my role as a postdoctoral administrator for the Semaphore Research Cluster at the Faculty of Information (iSchool) at the University of Toronto (2013-2017), I co-authored grant applications with faculty members, postdoctoral fellows and PhD students for the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC), Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council (NSERC), Canadian Foundation for Innovation (CFI), Grand Challenges Canada, Mitacs, and private sector funds. This included environmental scans, literature reviews and background research, as well as generating budget documentation for research assistants, project equipment, and conference travel in line with sponsor guidelines.

2016, Mitacs Cluster Grant (with cbm Canada; PI: Matt Ratto, University of Toronto, $80,000)

2015, We Are Cities: Community Innovation Grant (PI: Ramtin Attar, Imagine My City, $1500 seed funds)
